Looking beyond the behaviour to build better outcomes
When a child is struggling at school, families can find themselves caught in a cycle of behaviour warnings, time out of class or suspensions that often don’t address the underlying issues.
A student’s behaviour can be influenced by anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, learning challenges and their environment. Peer pressure, bullying and social pressures can also play a role. Understanding the function of behaviour and what may be contributing to it is key to providing the right support.
School Behaviour Support helps uncover what is driving the behaviour and develops practical strategies that help students feel supported and more engaged at school.
Teacher support for real classroom challenges
Teachers don’t have to manage challenging behaviours in the classroom alone. As a NSW Department of Education approved provider, we work with teachers, learning support teams and school leaders to provide positive behaviour support that works in real school settings. Through classroom observations, behaviour consultation, teacher coaching and professional development, we can help educators better understand behaviour.
Our support can be tailored to an individual student, a classroom or a whole-school initiative. Every program is designed to help schools strengthen behaviour support practices, build staff capability and create more positive learning environments.

Who can benefit from School Behaviour Support?
Students who are struggling with behaviour, emotional regulation, school engagement, social skills, learning participation or relationships at school may benefit from behaviour support.
How can my child access school-based services?
Parents can access our school-based services through their child’s school via the Specialist Allied Health and Behaviour Support Provider Scheme. If your child’s school participates in the scheme, you can speak with the school’s wellbeing team, learning support team, counsellor, or relevant staff member about making a referral. Referrals under the scheme are submitted through the school rather than directly to Serene Clinics.

What is included in a Behaviour Support Package?
Our Behaviour Support Packages are tailored to the individual needs of each student and may include assessment, consultation, behaviour support planning, direct support, resources, and progress monitoring. The specific supports provided will depend on the student’s needs and the package selected.
How do I know which support package is right for my child?
Our team will work with the school to identify the most appropriate level of support based on the student’s needs, goals, and presenting concerns.
Are parents involved in the support process?
Yes. Parent consultation is included within our support model to ensure consistency between home and school and to support positive student outcomes.
